Venetia occurs as title utilized mostly within the historical context for the front yard of n-eastern Italy formerly under the control of the Republic of Venice and corresponding approximately to the present-contemporary Italian administrative regions of the Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Under Austrian rule from 1797 to 1866, the territory was combined by owning its american neighbour in the Kingdom of Lombardy-Venetia during the years 1815 - 1859.
